Add two more to the celebrity engagement list

Both basketball star LeBron James and singer Aretha Franklin got engaged to their significant others over the holiday weekend and New Year's Eve, respectively.

LeBron James popped the question to longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson at a nightclub in South Beach, Miami, on New Year's Eve. He even got their two children - LeBron Jr., 7, and Bryce, 4 - in on the proposal, as they witnessed the whole thing.

"When it happens, it happens," Brinson, 25, told Harper's Bazaar of the possibility of marriage in 2010, the news source reports. "If we do it, I want it to be forever."

According to The Associated Press, the 69-year-old singer Franklin also is planning a wedding to longtime friend William "Willie" Wilkerson. The two are planning to get hitched at the end of the year on a beach in Miami.

There have a been a great number of celebs who have given or received engagement rings over the holiday season, some of which include Matthew McConaughey, John Legend, Michael Jordan, Wynonna Judd and Steven Tyler.
