All eyes were on the stars as they stepped out dressed to the nines for the 2013 American Music Awards. From singers and songwriters to actresses, the celebrities wowed in a wide range of attention-grabbing outfits that helped each one stand out from the crowd. Here are  few favorite looks from the night:

Jennifer Hudson
The singer and actress certainly knows how to make a splash. Hudson arrived on the red carpet in a form-fitting orange Dior number that mimicked both a cocktail dress and a ball gown. While the back was longer and included a train, the front cut short to reveal hot pink lining. Swift went for a '70s-inspired look in a short sequined number by Julien Macdonald and amped up the volume in her hair.
