Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg says "I do" to longtime girlfriend

This past Friday, Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg took his company public, but this wasn't his only memorable event over the weekend. In fact, Zuckerberg tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan in front of 100 guests, according to People Magazine.

The couple said "I do" in the backyard of their Palo Alto, California, home on Saturday. The guests thought they were attending the surprise celebration of Chan graduating from medical school the week prior. However, the family and friends were surprised by the 28-year-old Zuckerberg and his 27-year-old college sweetheart, the media outlet reports.

According to TIME, the couple, who met while at Harvard, have been dating for nine years. When it came to the wedding ring, Zuckerberg created it himself - choosing a simple ruby.
