Stars stun as they kick off New York Fashion Week
Feb 10, 2012
The Red Dress Collection fashion show is one of the kickoff events to start New York Fashion Week, and focuses on raising awareness for women's heart health, according to The New York Daily News.
A number of A-list celebrities walked the runway in red gowns designed by the best in the business - including Diane von Furstenberg, Narisco Rodriguez, Marchesa and Alberta Ferretti.
A few of the stars had some trouble as they almost slipped while walking down the runway. This includes a veteran to the catwalk, model Christie Brinkley.
"You can’t take a bad step when you’re on that runway," Brinkley told the new source. "You’re there supporting this worthwhile, meaningful cause. And if you slip and fall, you’ll make the news and spread the word even more.”
Other stars who strutted the runway include Minka Kelly, Rose McGowan, Gloria Estefan, La La Anthony, Jenna Elfman, Jennifer Nettles and Chaka Khan.
Kelly also stunned as she walked the red carpet before the event. She wore a form-fitting Diane von Furstenberg dress. She matched it with simple fashion jewelry and nude pumps, Us Weekly reports.
