The amfAR Gala puts Hollywood's best dressed in the spotlight
May 28, 2013
This year's amfAR gala was a successful and lavish affair, raking in $25 million for AIDS research and rolling out the black and white carpet for the most glamorous (and charitable) Hollywood stars. Every celeb showed their support for the cause by wearing their most fashionable attire, including Petra Nemcova, the gorgeous supermodel who looked stunning in a sheer-paneled glitzy blue gown. Her dress was a scene-stealer so she kept the rest of her look slightly simple, aside from the long pendant necklace she added for just a touch of bling.
She wasn't the only fashionable starlet to turn heads - Paz Vega represented the timeless, gorgeous look of a long, slinky black gown with a plunging neckline, bright red lips and nails, smokey eyes and gold jewelry, including her stack of shimmery bangles. When in doubt, follow Vega's style expertise and find your favorite black dress, whether you're going to a cocktail party, a formal dinner, a work event or even a wedding. Gold always pops against black, so you can accessorize with pieces like a statement necklace, drop earrings or bangles like Vega, such as the Yellow Gold-Plated 3-Piece Set Hammered-Style Bangle Bracelets, or to really turn heads, the Green And White Crystal 14k Gold-Plated Enamel Accent Leopard Hinged Bangle Bracelet.
Karolina Kurkova, another gorgeous celebrity who's used to being in the limelight, wore a black gown as well, though hers was a little bit more unusual than the classic slinky dress Vega wore. Her Cavalli floor-length gown featured cut-out panels across her midriff, which was enough drama to keep the rest of her look simple. Kurkova still accessorized, though, with a wraparound platinum and diamond cuff that looked like a snake coiling around her arm. Snake cuffs have been cropping up in the fashion realm, and can be a great summer accessory when you want to dress up an outfit. You can try a different twist on the snake cuff with the affordable Diamond-Cut Ear Pins And Snake Ear Cuff Set In 18k Gold Over Sterling Silver.
