Britney Spears wowed the red carpet when she showed up for the City of Hope event in Los Angeles. According to People Magazine, the iconic pop star donned a sparkling Halston Heritage dress with a statement cuff and her hair in loose waves.

The following night, Spears went to the Whitney Houston Tribute concert, and she talked about how much of an inspiration the late singer was to her and discussed when she first met her, Access Hollywood reports.

"I did [meet her] actually at the World Music Awards in Monaco. I was maybe 17 years old. I just remember being so excited! I was just like, 'Oh my god it's Whitney Houston, oh god!' I was really excited," Spears told the news source. "I just felt her voice alone said so much in every song she sang and through the radio you could feel her emotion and the type of person she is and what she's gone through. She's just someone to really admire."
