Connie Britton is ravishing in red

Connie Britton looked nothing short of fantastic when she stepped out for the Audi Golden Globe 2013 Kick Off Cocktail Party this past Sunday evening. According to the Daily Mail, the lovely actress donned a floor-length red dress, which she paired with matching heels, a few bangle bracelets in gold and sterling silver and a pair of massive earrings.

Britton is up for a Golden Globe for best actress in a television series for her role on "Nashville." She will be going up against Glenn Close in "Damages," Claire Danes in "Homeland," Julianna Margulies in "The Good Wife" and Michelle Dockery in "Downton Abbey." The 70th annual Golden Globes will take place this Sunday on NBC.

"Nashville" has been a hit thus far, and when Britton signed up to play country starlet Rayna James, she thought she would have no problem with the singing and dancing, since that is what she began her career doing, according to The Taste Of Country. However, that was not the case. In fact, she needed a little boost her first time out, but she has come a long way since.

"I'm getting a lot more comfortable thanks to my amazing voice teacher," Britton told Rachael Ray. "They have taken me from where I was so terrified that the first time I recorded, they had to give me whiskey. I don't even like whiskey! I was like, 'hand it over.' And now I really, genuinely have a blast."

Britton also recently opened up about adopting her son, Yoby, in 2011. According to People magazine, even though she is single, the 45-year-old actress knew it was the right time and adopting was something she always wanted to do.

"I lost both of my parents within three years of each other and I kind of thought, 'What am I waiting for?'" Britton recently told the ladies of The View. "The man will come and if I want to have my own kids I can do that, but I [knew] this was something I [wanted] to do."

Fans of Britton who want to emulate her look can do so without breaking the bank. Purchasing affordable jewelry such as the Hammered-Style Crystal And Glass Drop Pierced Earrings In Black Ruthenium Finish And 14k Gold-Plated for much less can be the perfect solution.
