When you're attending a party called the Little Black Jacket event, choosing your ensemble is a cinch. Elizabeth Olsen followed Chanel's advice and sported a petite black leather jacket with a lace minidress, black heels and a chrome-colored, layered chain necklace. Olsen wasn't the only one who went the all-black route. Other celebrity attendees like Vanessa Paradis donned their best black ensembles, perhaps because Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld sticks with a black-and-white color palette himself.
The party was a celebration of the eponymous book by Lagerfeld, which showcases the iconic black Chanel jacket through more than 100 photographs of models and celebrities who are friends of the Chanel House. Each image flaunted the individual style of the model by showing off the jacket in a different way. On Edie Campbell, designers transformed the jacket into a vest, and for model Stella Tennant, the jacket was draped casually around her shoulders.
Not only has the younger Olsen star become a darling of the Chanel fashion house, but she also is featured in this stylish coffee table book. Joining other prominent style icons of today, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Uma Thurman and even Kanye West, Olsen looked like a natural.
Her ebony getup for the Little Black Jacket event was a favorite along the matching black carpet, and her necklace added just the right amount of metal to the otherwise matte look. If you want to reveal your edgier side with your own chic black jacket, you can pair it like Olsen did with a chain necklace, such as the Multi-Layered Cable Chain Necklace In Tutone. The metallic hues will stand out against your otherwise monochrome outfit.
