Gold is in at Do Something Awards

Aug 01, 2013

Most award shows in Hollywood look to honor the best actors, actresses and other people within the entertainment industry for their work onscreen and behind the scene. However, the Do Something Awards vary, as the show sets out to celebrate stars who use their power to give back. The 2013 Do Something Awards took place July 31 and many celebs were seeing gold - even if they didn't take home any trophies. While all in attendance stunned the green carpet, it was the soulful Jennifer Hudson, the beautiful Sophia Bush and the stunning Roselyn Sanchez who stood out most.

Jennifer Hudson
Singer and actress Hudson is no stranger to taking home trophies for her pipes and acting abilities, but at this event, it was her gorgeous ensemble that stole the attention. According to People magazine, Hudson turned heads wearing a sleek summer outfit that consisted of black high-waisted shorts and a patterned black, white and cream button-down blouse.

Though the look already had some flair thanks to the funky pattern, her gold accessories took the style up a notch. Hudson looked fab wearing a thick gold chain necklace with large circle pendants. She kept the gold going with her black belt that boasted a chic gold buckle, as well as multiple chain bracelets on either wrist, a gold cocktail ring and white and gold ankle-strap pumps.

An outfit like this is perfect for a summer night out on the town and adding gold accents is the optimal way to show off your tanned skin. You could replicate Hudson's envious chain style by rocking the Curb-Link Necklace In Yellow Gold Tone 24" around your neck and the 18k Yellow Gold Over Sterling Silver Saduza-Link Bracelet 7 1/4" on your wrist.

Sophia Bush
Actress Bush did more than just look fabulous on the green carpet of the show, she also had the privilege of hosting the annual event. The former "One Tree Hill" star dazzled prior to the ceremony in a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown. The dress boasted a plunging neckline, a tight waist and a flowy skirt as well as a chic teal and white pattern that resembled the rolling sea - a perfect choice for the environmentally-conscious event.

Like a true professional, Bush knew to accentuate the cool colors with warmer gold-toned accessories. The brunette beauty opted for a thick gold bangle and two skinnier bracelets with colored stones on one wrist. She carried a metallic gold envelope clutch and wore matching gold heels to complete the sassy, yet laid-back ensemble.

Since the teal and white combo is so in for 2013, it's likely you have a dress similar to Bush's already in your closet. You could go the golden route like the starlet by donning a few bracelets like the Set Of 7 Bangle Bracelets With Crystal And Blue Enamel Accents In Yellow Gold Tone.

Roselyn Sanchez
Sanchez may star as a housekeeper on the new Lifetime series "Devious Maids," but she certainly looked like anything but hired help at the Do Something Awards. Instead, the actress dazzled - literally - in a gorgeous little gold dress.

The frock, which was form-fitting to her curves, also boasted thin straps and a deep-cut neckline, showing off her gorgeous figure. This golden girl didn't stop the fun here, as she rocked black peep-toe heels with gold hardware and pretty gold drop earrings as an accent. Sanchez proved once and for all that a girl can never have too much bling, or too much gold for that matter.
