New York Fashion Week kicks off with star-studded event

Stars kicked off New York Fashion Week this past Wednesday with the annual The Heart Truth Red Dress fashion show inside the Hammerstein Ballroom. The event is held each year to raise awareness about heart disease, and several stars come out for the fashionable event that is also for a good cause. 

“Heart disease is the number one killer of women in this country and we want to raise awareness of that.  We want women to know that it's preventable,” surgeon general Dr. Regina Benjamin told ABC News.

Kelly Osbourne was one of the gorgeous starlets who strutted her stuff on the catwalk. She looked fantastic in strapless Zac Posen mermaid gown, which she paired with drop earrings, funky purple hair and gold heels. Even though she was a little nervous before getting on stage, she received loud cheers when she hit the runway, the media outlet reports. 

Osbourne has a lot to celebrate as of late besides her recent modeling debut. According to ContactMusic, she revealed last month that she is engaged to boyfriend Matthew Mosshart. One thing's for sure, she can't stop gushing about him. 

'I couldn't believe that he truly liked me because I never think people ever could. But I'm so happy. I don't think I've ever really known what love is like before," Osbourne told the news outlet. 

Also in attendance was Minka Kelly, gymnast Gabby Douglas, Kris Jenner and her daughters Kendall and Kylie - all of whom looked fantastic on the red carpet. According to Us Weekly, Kelly donned a fantastic one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown, which she paired the drop earrings and a cocktail ring. Douglas looked all grown up in a Pamella Roland frock with a diamond bracelet and earrings. 

The Jenner?'s all looked terrific as well - Kendall wore a stunning Badgley Mischka gown with bejeweled shoulders and a key-hole. Her sister Kylie and her mother Kris also wore gowns by the same designer, and made their way down the catwalk together, the media outlet reports.
