Nicole Richie struts her boho-chic style to 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'
Apr 12, 2013
Nicole Richie is no stranger to high fashion - the famously boho mom of two and daughter of singer Lionel Richie has made a living first as a stylish reality star and now as a fashion mentor on "The Fashion Star," the NBC fashion designer competition show in which she works alongside Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Louise Roe.
Most recently, the fashionista showed how she mixes contemporary fashions with her boho style in her own wardrobe when she appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Richie wore a sleek black, sleeveless jumpsuit with sheer paneling across her chest and ribs, exposing just enough skin to stay elegant while looking edgy. The pleated wide-leg pants added a classic element to the look. She accessorized with blue velvet pumps, a tassled leather clutch and massive, organically shaped silver earrings. This fashion jewelry was by far her most dramatic accessory. Her bold, almost futuristic silver and blue eye makeup contrasted perfectly with her hair, which was woven into a casual boho braided updo.
This isn't the first time Richie has flawlessly blended a hippie-inspired look with Hollywood glamour. In fact, she has become known for such looks. Fortunately, they are easy enough for the average woman to replicate. Generally, Richie mixes a classic cut with bohemian accessories, hair or makeup, or vice versa, rocking glam add-ons with a Greek-style gown or maxi dress.
It's easy to copy Richie's hippie-Hollywood look when you have the right accessories. What gave her recent look a boho edge was the fashion designer's bold earrings. A pair like the Antiqued Silvertone Metal Twisted Hammered-Style Hoop Pierced Earrings are a perfect way to add edgy glamour to an elegant ensemble like Richie did. Top your outfit off with funky braids and you're set to go!
