I like the shorter length because it doesn't disappear into the neckline of clothing and is visible when you wear a sweater or jacket. In addition, I like the matching bracelet. I didn't order my true birthstone color because I prefer other colors -- the clear crystal (April) has a dazzling, diamond-look. I wear the bright red (July) during the Christmas holidays/Valentine's Day, and the pink (October) because I love the color pink!

However, I will end up returning it because the chain was shorter than I expected but mostly the chain itself is too thick that it doesn't look right on me. If you like short chains on the thicker side this is beautiful. Just not my cup of tea :)
